In fiction a love potion is a chemical form of mind control. After taking a love potion the victim will begin to feel uncontrollable romantic desire. Love potions can be ingested or inhaled.

Love potions tend to come in three categories:

• Fall in love with whomever administered the love potion to the victim.

• Fall in love with the first person the victim sees.

• Have a general feeling of lust similar to the effects of a powerful aphrodisiac or pheromone.

Love potions can also be categorized as working almost instantly or having a delayed reaction.
